Toshiba Encore Mini Windows 8.1 Tablet

When it comes to the world of tablets, most of us are familiar with Apple’s offerings under the iPad family, while there has been an explosion of Android-powered tablets in recent years, too. Toshiba has tried its luck in Android-powered tablets before, and they do seem to have dipped their fingers into the world of Windows as well where the tablet form factor is concerned, and this has led to a device such as the Windows 8.1-powered Toshiba Encore Mini tablet being announced.

Toshiba intends the world to know that the Encore Mini is capable of delivering a full Windows 8.1 experience right there in your pocket (or palm), without having to worry about burning a hole in your bank account with an asking price of just $119.99. Sure, it might not be all that powerful as a Windows 8.1 notebook or hybrid device, but it is still something, especially when you take into consideration features such as a one-year subscription to Office 365 Personal and 1TB of OneDrive storage.

The Toshiba Encore Mini will boast of a chassis that has a textured back panel in white, making it a snap to use with just one hand thanks to its 12.5 ounce weight and slim 0.43” profile. It has a 7-inch 1024×600 resolution multi-touch display, will run on a quad-core Intel Atom processor, sports Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity, carries two cameras – one in front, and the other a 2MP rear shooter, and has 16GB of internal memory to help you get started right out of the box.
