When it comes to Windows-powered tablets, Toshiba looks to have picked up the slack with the recent announcement of the Toshiba Encore Mini, and while we have seen other upcoming devices such as the iBall Slide WQ32 and the Acer Iconia Tab 8W, here we are with yet another offering from Toshiba, where you will be able to get your hands on the Toshiba Encore 2 Write in due time.
What makes the Toshiba Encore 2 Write a wee bit more special than the rest? Well, it so happens that this is a pen-enabled device, and you will be able to choose from either an 8” or 10.1” screen size. Regardless of the form factor, both of these models will run on a quad-core Intel Atom Z3735 quad-core processor, sport an 8MP camera at the back, has a 1.2MP front-facing camera, and features Windows 8.1 as the operating system of choice.
The included digital pen comes in handy whenever you would want to capture notes, jot down messages, or perhaps to doodle something. These tablets will let you snap a photo of a whiteboard, document, or other real-world objects, before transforming them into digital notes – giving you more opportunity to pay attention to the speaker instead of feverishly writing down everything being said. There is no word on pricing as at press time.
