Those who own a carrier locked Samsung device in the U.S. have been waiting patiently for Android 4.4.4. This software update was released a couple of months back by Google. While it doesn’t bring any major changes the update does include some important security fixes that will go a long way in ensuring users’ safety. Carriers in the U.S. have now started to roll out Android 4.4.4 for certain Galaxy devices and today its the T-Mobile Galaxy S4’s turn.

Other carriers have also pushed out this update for Samsung’s devices. Earlier this week Sprint released Android 4.4.4 for the Galaxy Note 3. Then Verizon followed up with the same update for Samsung Galaxy S5. Today T-Mobile users can look forward to receiving the latest version of Android on their devices.

Apart from bringing the aforementioned security fixes this update also includes performance improvements and system enhancements. T-Mobile also makes Wi-Fi calling enhancements for the Galaxy S4 through this update, it is one of the few carriers in the U.S. that’s currently offering the Wi-Fi calling feature.

T-Mobile Galaxy S4 Android 4.4.4 update comes in at over 400MB so it would be best to download it when connected to a decent Wi-Fi network. Ensure that there’s ample charge in the device before going ahead with the procedure.
