Super Smash Bros. on the Nintendo 3DS is a hit game – but just how “hot” has it been since its release? Well, sales figures for Super Smash Bros. 3DS continue to fly through the roof, moving more than enough units for it to maintain its top spot in Japan for the second week running by selling 321,363 copies of the game, at least according to Media Create.
The total two week retail sales would see a grand figure of 1.27 million copies sold, and just like how a dog goes wherever the nose turns, so too, will smashing software result in a corresponding and rejuvenated hardware sales – which is why the Nintendo 3DS system sales also saw a spike, as it managed to shift a respectable 43,592 units in the same week itself.
It does look, however, that sales of the game will continue to taper off in the weeks to come, which is pretty much normal for any newly released software. One would have the ask the question though, how many of the new Nintendo 3DS units were sold because existing owners actually played so far with Super Smash Bros. 3DS, that the slide pads actually slid out of place on a permanent basis?
