Super Smash Bros. 3DS Action Too Intense For The Hardware?

Nintendo has generally delivered quality hardware over the years, no doubt about that. Heck, I still have my first generation Gameboy that runs on a quartet of AA batteries with its dot matrix display since 1991, and close to a quarter of a century later, the bad boy still works. The Nintendo DS Lite? Mine’s running fine and dandy, and the only thing I worry about would be the battery in my cartridges of yore. Hence, it is rather surprising to hear that some gamers in Japan who have had spent plenty of time with Super Smash Bros. 3DS recently might have just “broke” their respective Nintendo 3DS’.

How so? A bunch of people have reported, accompanied by photographs of their allegations, that the slide pads of the Nintendo 3DS were unable to keep up with the pace of the frenetic action, and after having a smashing time (pardon the pun) with Super Smash Bros. 3DS, the slide pads simply gave up the ghost by sliding out of place – permanently. Most of these reports hail from Japan, since the game has been released in the Land of the Rising Sun over the weekend.

Some other images do point to partially destroyed pads, and the Nintendo 3DS simply looks incomplete with its hollowed out nubs. No idea on what Nintendo is going to do with the situation, but you know for sure that these are some very dedicated and passionate gamers!
