South Korean University To Offer PlayStation Classes

ps classroomGoing for classes in school tends to be a bit boring, although we guess it largely depends on the subject that is being taught. Well if you were considering going overseas for further studies, you might want to consider the Sangmyung University in South Korea. This is because the university has recently teamed up with Sony Computer Entertainment to create a PlayStation course.

As you can see in the image above, the classrooms will be outfitted with computers and also PlayStation controllers. Students will also have access to the PlayStation 4 and the PS Vita consoles. So what kind of education is this? What will be taught? Well apparently the course is said to teach students about the history of video games, video game graphics, game music composition, mobile games, marketing, and more.

The classes will also feature local celebrities who will be making their appearance as guest lecturers, and will also include field trips to local gaming studios! The classrooms will also remain open as PlayStation demo studios when not in use by the students and lecturers. Pretty cool, huh?

This isn’t the first time we’ve heard about how courses in universities are starting to evolve to meet today’s demands. For example there are universities which are starting to recognize video games as more than a mere pastime and are offering students scholarships based on the videos games that they play.
