So what gives? Will Samsung ever launch a Tizen device? Well they will and apparently they will be of the low-end variety, perhaps trying to compete in a market where price might be a priority, as opposed to specs and features, and more importantly where Apple is pretty much non-existent.
According to the Economic Times of India, it seems that Samsung could be getting ready to launch said devices in the coming months, which would technically make it their first release, and that Samsung’s first market will reportedly be in India. It is unclear as to which Tizen handset it will be, but it has been speculated that it could be the Samsung SM-Z130.
If so, it is expected that the handset could be priced around $200 which makes it relatively affordable, at least compared to other high-end smartphones out there, although it would be a hard sell compared to Android One devices which are priced around the $100 mark. In any case we’ll keep our eyes peeled for more info, so check back with us later for the details.
