Samsung makes some of the best selling Android tablets in the market. The tablets cater to different segments of the market, for example, the Galaxy Tab Pro series is aimed at the high-end segment which is willing to pay higher for powerful specifications. The Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 10.1 is one such device, with its 2,560×1,600 pixel resolution display, Exynos 5 Octa 5420 processor coupled with 2GB RAM and more. If you have one lying around and are not too happy with the customized software experience fear not as the official CyanogenMod 11 ROM for this tablet has been released.
For those who don’t know the Cyanogen team makes the most widely used custom Android ROMs for smartphones and tablets. They provide near stock experience of Android OS as they contain no bloatware that carriers and OEMs usually load on their devices. These ROMs also have some feature that are not found in the stock Android OS.
The team has been supporting Samsung’s tablets for quite some time now. CyanogenMod 11 nightly builds are available already for the Galaxy Tab Pro 8.3.
Currently a nightly CyanogenMod 11 build for Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 10.1 is available for download. Since its not a stable build there may be a few bugs that might pop up but the turnaround time is quick with nightly builds and updates are frequent. Do keep in mind though that the build is only available for the Wi-Fi version, the carrier variants and international LTE variant is yet to be supported.
