When looking for cameras to film outdoors or adventure shots, you will most likely look for a camera that is rugged and could probably take a drop or two, and perhaps maybe even a little water resistant so that when it rains, your device isn’t ruined. Well if you are in the market for such a camera, Ricoh has recently announced the Ricoh WG-M1, which is a rugged adventure camera which you can see in the image above.
We have to admit that in terms of design, the WG-M1 is a little odd but we expect it should still be good enough to get the job done. In terms of its ruggedness, Ricoh has promise that the camera will be waterproof to depths of 10 meters, shock-resistant from a fall of 2 meters, and is also cold-resistant up to -10C, so safe to say that this camera should work in most environments.
There is a 1.5-inch LCD monitor at the top of the camera that allows users to check their photos and movies, and there is also support for a wireless LAN connection in which photographers/videographers will be able to connect the camera to their smartphone/tablet. The WG-M1 will also be able to shoot images as fast as 10 frames per second, and thanks to the camera’s large-ish buttons, users will be able to navigate the device even when wearing gloves.
For those who are interested in picking up the Ricoh WG-M1 adventure camera for themselves, you guys can expect to pay £199.99 for it.
