If you’re someone who isn’t really concerned about the legality of watching pirated TV shows and movies then Popcorn Time is meant for you. It is often referred to as the Netflix for pirates and has been around on the desktop and Android for quite some time now. Today Popcorn Time for iOS has been released, allowing people to view pirated content on their iPhones and iPads.
Since its primary feature is to allow people to view pirated content one can conclude that Apple did not give it permission to be listed in the App Store. Don’t worry though, the app is still out there, but it has to be sideloaded and the device on which it is meant to be installed needs to be jailbroken. So if you’re rocking the latest iPhones with iOS 8 you’re out of luck.
Through Popcorn Time for iOS it is almost effortless to stream pirated TV shows and movies. The app itself is free and there’s no monthly subscription fee, just a deep mark on your conscience for not paying and opting for piracy.
Like its Android counterpart the iOS app will soon have a built-in VPN, the team will also add support for Chromecast and AirPlay, however these features will be added in future releases. Its an open source app and the source code is available through this website.
