Needless to say, it will take on the futuristic look by being a slot-loading BD drive, sporting a magnesium alloy housing which is capable of effectively suppressing the vibration whenever it is in use. Apart from that, there will be an internal shutter film that will further reduce the noises from the spinning disc, and it will also have another job of keeping the dust away from the drive’s internal bits and pieces.
What makes the Pioneer BDR-XU03J all the more interesting is the fact it lacks a physical disc eject button, which means there is only one way to execute this – through software. The Pioneer BDR-XU03J is capable of burning through BD-R / R DL at 6x, BD-RE (SL/DL/TL) at 2x, BD-R TL/QL at 4x, DVD ± R DL at 4x, DVD-RAM at 5x and CD-R/RW at 24x. There is also a Pure Read2 + algorithm that offers even more reliable playback of audio CDs, never mind when scratched. Right now, the Pioneer BDR-XU03J will be released in Japan for approximately $210 after conversion.
