Panasonic Toughpad FZ-E1 Is A Rugged Tablet

Panasonic is no stranger when it comes to introducing rugged devices that are more than capable of handling a knock or two. In fact, they have just introduced the Panasonic Toughpad FZ-E1 which is touted to be one of the most rugged 5” tablets in existence that sport both data as well as voice capabilities. This is a powerful all-in-one device that targets mobile workers as it brings about the best in the world of handhelds, smartphones and tablets.

The Toughpad FZ-E1 will not run on Android, but rather, it will rock to Windows Embedded 8.1 Handheld, and they have been said to be the ideal device for mobile workers in transportation and logistics, public sector and emergency services, utilities, retail, manufacturing and aviation.

The Toughpad FZ-E1will be able to shrug off drops of up to 3m on concrete itself, and it goes above and beyond the call of MIL-STD-810G specifications in order to assure additional reliability. Not only that, it will remain fully sealed against dust and can be submerged in up to 1.5 meters of water for half an hour without suffering from any kind of malfunction. It does not matter what the weather is like out there, since the Toughpad FZ-E1 will be able to operate in an extreme band of temperatures which range from -20°C to 60°C, made possible courtesy of an integrated heater.

There is also a sunlight-readable, anti-reflective HD (1280×720) 10-point capacitive, toughened multi-touchscreen display which will work despite you wearing gloves – extremely handy when it comes to tough situations where gloves should be worn at all times. Snapping photos is also an easy thing to do, thanks to an 8MP camera at the back which has a bright LED flash and a 1.3MP front-facing camera. The Toughpad FZ-E1 will arrive later this November for a whopping £1,056, excluding taxes, but I guess this is a classic case of getting what you paid for.
