Panasonic Lumix DMC-GM5 Announced

Panasonic is on a roll here (as well as other camera manufacturers, as the Japanese company has just announced their new Panasonic Lumix DMC-GM5, which so happens to be a mirrorless Micro Four Thirds digital camera complete with a 12-35mm f/3.5-5.6 ASPH. MEGA O.I.S. lens to help you get started right out of the box.

This is the latest camera model from the new GM series of interchangeable-lens mirrorless cameras, and for those who were wondering, it will arrive in a similar style as that of the GM1, sporting a sleek magnesium-alloy frame. What makes the Lumix DMC-GM5 different would be a 1,166k-dot electronic viewfinder instead of the pop-up flash which is on the GM1, alongside a hot-shoe mount. There will be a 16-megapixel Digital Live MOS sensor and Venus Engine which ought to work well to deliver high-resolution images and Full HD 1080p video at 60fps.

In addition, there is also a smart Contrast AF system which will pave the way for signal exchanges to occur between the camera and attached lens – at a maximum of 240 fps to boot for fast autofocusing speeds. The Lumix DMC-GM5 will have a target market of photographers looking for high performance without having a bulky form factor to play with.
