NVIDIA has this particularly good habit (or should we say, tradition) of rolling out patches for its Shield tablet according to a timetable that more or less remains one month apart thereabouts. Having said that, we are pleased to bring you word that NVIDIA has just introduced a spanking new update to their NVIDIA Shield tablet, bumping up the update version number to 1.2 this time around.
Needless to say, update 1.2 will bring along with it a slew of enhancements to the features in the Shield Hub. Similar to Valve’s Steam, the Shield Hub happens to be a portal which will offer Shield users access to their video game libraries, as well as functioning as a method for gamers to purchase new content, ala a digital storefront.
There will also be other additions and enhancements that will be part of update 1.2, where among them include network test capability, customizable “My Android Games” and “My Media Apps,” “Share” functionality for news stories, a swipe feature and improved touch performance.
In the past, update 1 rolled out on July 28th, before it was August 28th that saw update 1.1 follow up on that act. This latest update 1.2 was released today, making its way just as the 32GB LTE model of the NVIDIA Shield tablet is launched.
