It looks as though the Nokia Lumia 930, a smartphone which was released earlier this April 2014 will be on the receiving end of a new software update that will be known as the Windows Phone 8.1 Update 1. On the Lumia 930, this would see the firmware version number getting a bump up to 14353 from 14252, and the operating system itself will now carry the number 14157, which would place it on par with that of the existing Preview for Developers.
A little bit of background work – OS 14157 happens to be Windows Phone 8.1 Update 1, which means users need not have to enroll with the Preview program. Apart from that, this would make the Nokia Lumia 930 similar to the HTC One for Windows on Verizon, being an official, non-preview handset to be on the receiving end of Windows Phone 8.1 Update 1.
Among some of the improvements where one can expect include better stability and performance, enhancements to its imaging capability, an enriched display performance, Cortana support thrown into the mix for those living in UK and China, Start screen folders, a customizable snooze for the alarm clock and other usability improvements. Do bear in mind that this would remain as the Lumia Cyan update, and it should not be thought of as the Lumia Denim.
