It looks like the pressure of being the first person in the Australia to pick up an iPhone 6 has gotten into Jack, where in his enthusiasm to open up his brand new iPhone 6 in front of many TV cameras and reporters, he bungled it. Having some difficulty in removing the top cover of the iPhone 6’s box as you can see in the video above, the force of prying it open sent the iPhone 6 slaloming through the air, before the law of gravity kicked in and the sought after handset smacked the ground – hard.

Needless to say, the crowd screamed as the iPhone 6 hit the ground, and thankfully for Jack (who must have been sweating bucketloads inside), the smartphone seemingly survived the “tragedy”, and perhaps there is some truth to the ion-strengthened glass after all. You cannot get a better product endorsement by a seemingly unscripted happening here, and while Jack must be happy to rock to iOS 8 on his iPhone 6, I am quite sure there will be some scars on its chassis already.

What does this incident show? It tells of the fact that a cool, calm and collected head is always crucial in all circumstances, and even more so when you are under tremendous stress, whether from within or without. Oh, and the iPhone 6 can survive a drop onto concrete at least once.
