Over the weekend Motorola had confirmed that soon its new Moto X smartphone will be available for order. The wait finally ends today. The new Moto X is now available for pre-order in the U.S. Alternatively AT&T subscribers can also visit their carrier’s website to place a pre-order for this smartphone.

Apart from selling the carrier locked Moto X on its website Motorola is also selling the Moto X Pure Edition. There will be no bloatware on this device and it won’t have to wait for carrier approval before a software update is pushed out which is why the Moto X Pure Edition is a good choice for those looking for a stock Android OS experience. The Pure Edition will work on both AT&T and T-Mobile in the U.S.

Customers can also customize their devices as per their preferences using Motorola’s online suite. Those who go with a wood or leather back will have to pay $25 over the $99 price tag, that’s with a conventional two year service contract. Up front the device costs $526. On AT&T Next the smartphone will cost $26.35 or $21.96 monthly on the Next 12 and Next 18 plans respectively.

Motorola’s website lists the shipping date as September 26th whereas AT&T claims that it will have the device on customers’ doorsteps by September 23rd. Other carriers have yet to confirm their pricing for the new Moto X.
