The MSI GS30 Shadow will measure a mere 0.8” thick, and it tips the scales at under 2.9 pounds, sporting a 13.3” display at 2,560 x 1,440 pixel resolution. Underneath the hood, there is already a powerful Intel Core i7 Haswell processor running the show accompanied by the Intel Iris Pro graphics chipset, but for real gaming punch, it would be best to settle for something from AMD or NVIDIA. Hence, its ability to be able to connect to the GamingDock.
The GamingDock itself comes with a PCI-e x16 slot for a graphics card, DVI and HDMI outputs, and audio jacks. Heck, the dock does arrive in a larger form factor compared to other desktop machines, but the whole point is to leave it at home, and bring your GS30 Shadow to work.
Other hardware specifications of the MSI GS30 Shadow include up to 16GB of RAM, a backlit keyboard, 802.11ac Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity, Ethernet, HDMI output, an SDXC memory card reader, and a 720p webcam. There is no word on pricing just yet, but MSI targets a January 2015 release date. [Press Release]
