It wasn’t too long ago that Motorola officially unveiled the new Moto X. The handset is the successor to last year’s Moto X and as expected, comes with hardware improvements as well as a change to its overall design. That being said, it seems that Motorola is now actively trying to get customers interested in the new Moto X.
This is apparent on their website in which in place of the “Design yours” button for the 1st gen Moto X, it now reads “(Pssst…we just announced the all new Moto X, which we hope you will love even more. Click here for details)” which will now direct users to the new Moto X’s website.
It should be pointed out that as it stands, the developer edition Moto X is still available via Verizon and for other GSM-based carriers, but that model will be sold at full retail price, so if you wanted a subsidized phone, there is a good chance you will have to look to the new Moto X for that.
Presumably Motorola will eventually do away with the developer edition handsets in favor of focusing on the new Moto X, but for now those are some of the options you have if you absolutely have to get the 1st gen Moto X. In the meantime anyone else sad to see the old Moto X go?
