That being said, while the Moto 360 has a charger of its own, it has been pointed out by Mobile Syrup that the smartwatch can be charged with third-party chargers, as long as it is of the Qi wireless charging standard. That means if you have wireless devices that charge with Qi, you should be able to use those chargers with the Moto 360.
This is good news in the event you lose your charger or if you’re looking to add more charging points in your home. However as Daniel Bader of Mobile Syrup has noted, it seems that when using a third-party charger, there is a good chance that your watch could end up overheating which is what he noted with his Moto 360.
However he also noted that not all chargers cause this, but it should be worth noting because let’s face it, no one likes a smartphone exploding in your pocket, so having a smartwatch explode on your wrist does not sound particularly fun either.
