Earlier today at 12PM ET, Motorola made their smartwatch, the Moto 360, available for purchase, but it seems that less than 12 hours later, the company has managed to sell out their supply of Moto 360 smartwatches. This is according to a recent tweet by Motorola Mobility who revealed that the watch is currently sold out.
However they note that it is only sold out via Motorola’s website, so there is a chance you could still find it at other retailers, such as Best Buy (available September 14th according to Re/code) or the Google Play Store. At the same time Motorola notes that while they do plan on getting more stock, the availability of the watches will be limited for a while, so unless you were one of the early birds, you could be in for a wait.
This is not the first time that Motorola has had trouble keeping their products in stock. Last year the company had some difficulty in keeping the Moto X in stock which resulted in many customers having to wait for a while before their orders were shipped to them. We’re not sure if this is because Motorola had underestimated the demand, or if it’s just bad supply chain management.
In any case for those interested in getting their hands on the Moto 360, you can head on over to Motorola’s website where you can leave your email address and be notified when the smartwatch is back in stock.
