While we did bring you news that Microsoft has released its Xbox One console over in China earlier this morning, and that is not the only thing or device that Microsoft has up their sleeves for the China market. Apparently, they are also lining up the Nokia Lumia 830 for a release this coming October 13th. Touted by Microsoft to be the first ‘affordable flagship’ smartphone, it will retail for 2,399 CNY (which is converted to $390 thereabouts), arriving in all four color options, namely black, white, orange and green as it becomes available in that part of the world that has no Instagram access.
A little bit of background information for those who are interested in the Lumia 830 – this smartphone happened to be unveiled earlier this month with the Nokia Lumia 730 and 735 ‘selfie phones’, and it will arrive with the most recent Lumia Denim firmware, featuring support for the localized Chinese version of Cortana.
Some of the hardware specifications include a 5” HD (1280x720px) ClearBlack IPS LCD display with Gorilla Glass 3, a quad-core 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor, 1GB RAM, 16GB of internal memory with a microSD memory card slot for expansion purpose, a 10MP PureView camera with ZEISS optics and LED flash, a 0.9MP wide-angle front-facing camera, and NFC and Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity. I am curious to know how it will do against the likes of Xiaomi and Oppo.
