However Microsoft France’s Nicolas Petit, the director of Marketing and Operations was quick to correct Crozier and said, “We look forward to seeing you in late September, in San Francisco, for the future of Windows, which actually at this stage does not have a name as such.”
In some ways this kind of makes sense as the next-generation of Windows has yet to be officially named. So far we have heard names like “Windows 9” being tossed around, and we have also heard “Windows Threshold”, although there is a chance that the latter could be an internal codename.
Then again it wasn’t too long ago that Microsoft China revealed what appeared to be the logo for Windows 9 which seems to cement the name. In any case we guess we will find out more next week, so do check back with us then for the details.
