Hmmm, it does look as though the smartwatch industry is about to heat up all the more as we prepare to enter into the fourth quarter of the year. Sir Jony Ive has already mentioned that Swiss watchmakers are in trouble, where many see it as an ominous warning of what Apple has up their sleeves, while there are also whispers of HTC jumping aboard the smartwatch bandwagon with a rumored September release. Well, how about the Android Wear-powered LG G Watch R? It looks as though it will arrive on store shelves this coming October 14.
We did hear in the past on how the LG G Watch R will arrive with a 299 Euro price tag, and if that is going to be the case, then folks living over in the US would most probably have to fork out $299 for this bad boy. The price was apparently revealed by the German branch of LG itself, and if that were to be true, then it would be the priciest Android Wear device as at press time. After all, you do get your money’s worth thanks to the stainless steel body, an IP67 certification which makes it waterproof, a 1.2GHz Snapdragon processor, 512MB RAM, and 4GB of internal memory, while a 410mAh battery ensures that it keeps on working as long as possible. Oh yeah, did we mention how the 1.3″ plastic OLED display is simply too sexy to wear around your wrist?
