As September 14th came to a close, the campaign too, saw curtains fall down on it, with 5,554 backers actually putting in a total of $2,289,606. Now that is more than 20 times above and beyond of what was originally required, and so we ought to see a fair number of homes that will sport the Jibo robot in due time.
Jibo is there to add a touch of “humanity”, if it were possible, by offering personal and emotive engagement. As mentioned earlier this year when Jibo was launched, it intends to be part of the family, and as soon as Jibo arrives home, he will begin to want to learn more about everyone else who shares the same roof as it, going about it by recognizing the different voices and faces within the household.
