I am sure that many of you may have become sick by now of any and all iWatch rumors and reports. It has been over a year since debate on this possibility began. The most recent reports have us believe that Apple is finally going to show off its wearable device on September 9th, the day when its supposed to launch new iPhones. Just now the New York Times has published a detailed report “confirming” many iWatch rumors that we have heard up till now.
The NYT reiterates that the iWatch will be available in two sizes and that it would be fitness focused. Apart from having support for wireless payments the wearable device is also said to have a “unique, flexible screen” by the scribe which cites people who have knowledge of the product. It even claims to have heard about the iWatch from employees who were briefed on the product, some are of the view that the iWatch is Apple’s “most ambitious project to date.”
Apple reportedly put in a lot of time and resources for the iWatch’s sensors so that they’re capable of accurately measuring movements and vital signs such as heart rate. Both models are believed to have flexible display panels covered with sapphire. The actual circuit board of the iWatch is reportedly similar to a postage stamp in size.
We have also heard chatter about wireless charging for the iWatch and the NYT reiterates that as well. Apple is said to have tried its luck with solar charging as well but in the ended decided to go with the wireless option.
Citing “several people,” the NYT claims that while the iWatch is going to be unveiled at the event next Tuesday, it may not hit stores until 2015.
