Isis Changes Name To Softcard

softcardIsis, the U.S. mobile wallet platform that is backed by AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon, decided that they have had enough of the Islamic State and its brutal regime over in the Middle East, so much so that a rebranding exercise is in store in order to avoid any kind of misconception and to distance themselves with the militant group. Isis Wallet will be no more in a few weeks’ time, where it will instead be known as Softcard.

Hmmm, Softcard. That is a rather “soft” name, don’t you think so? It is basically a different name that will offer a similar great way to pay. Michael Abbott, Isis CEO, shared, “However coincidental, we have no desire to share a name with this group and our hearts go out to those affected by this violence. Your current Isis Wallet will continue to work as it always has. In the next few weeks, we will launch the updated Softcard app. At that point, you can update your app as you normally would and see that your Isis Wallet has become Softcard.”

Other than the name change, everything else about Softcard will remain as it is in the past. Do you like the name change, or would you have selected something slightly different? [Press Release]
