According to the rumors, the iPhone 6’s hardware might not seem much to shout about, at least compared to the likes of Android and Windows Phone handsets where we are looking at quad-core processors with at least 2GB of RAM. In fact according to earlier rumors, word has it that the iPhone 6 could only feature a dual-core processor with 1GB of RAM.
If you were hoping that isn’t true, you might be disappointed to learn that it could be the truth. This is thanks a recent Geekbench sighting in which possible specs for the iPhone 6 could have been revealed. As you can see in the image above, the handset that passed through the benchmarks is revealed to sport a dual-core processor clocked at 1.38GHz and is of the A8 variety.
The benchmarks also reveal that the phone could come with 1GB of RAM, which we guess some of you guys might find a little disappointing, but then again iOS 8 has been optimized for Apple’s hardware along with apps and services, so we guess while on paper it might not seem as fast, it should still run pretty smooth.
Interestingly enough this seems to contradict the earlier rumors which hinted at a clock speed of 2GHz. In any case take it with a grain of salt for now as benchmark results can always be faked, but either way we only have a few more hours to go until Apple unveils the iPhone 6 in all of its official glory, so do check back with us then for the details!
