We’re less than 24 hours away from the official announcement of Apple’s next generation smartphones but still the rumor mill is showing no signs of slowing down. Multiple reports and rumors have come in today regarding the iPhone 6 and the latest claims to disclose the moniker that Apple has chosen for its significantly larger iPhone.
Macotakara, a well known Japanese blog that has been right about unreleased Apple products in the past, has published a new report today claiming that it has learnt of the 5.5-inch iPhone 6’s official moniker. The scribe claims that this particular model will be called the iPhone 6 Plus.
This is a conflicting report as we’ve already heard that Apple is going to call this model the iPhone 6L. Then again none of the rumored monikers have been officially confirmed as yet so it can’t be said for sure what Apple will go with.
The report further claims that iPhone 6 Plus is going to be available in the same three color options as the iPhone 5s, and isn’t able to confirm if the rumored 128GB version will be offered for sale this time around. The last product that carried Plus in its name was the Mac Plus, Apple hasn’t used this word for any other product’s moniker since then, are we going to experience a comeback tomorrow?
It should be pointed out here that Macotakara rightly predicted the iPhone 5c moniker last year when everyone was wondering what the relatively cheaper iPhone will cost. Perhaps it will get lucky this year as well, we’ll find out for sure tomorrow.
