In order to elaborate more on this morning’s report, the new certifications received for both Apple handsets from the China Compulsory Certification (CCC) would be similar to that of the Underwriters Laboratories certification, where the devices will go through a range of tests in order to determine its safety when used in the hands of consumers. To be more specific, the quartet of iPhone 6 models – A1586, A1589, A1524 and A1593, have passed 3C (China Compulsory Certification) certification and also picked up the nod of approval from the State Radio Regulation of China.
Apart from that, there is also the issue of passing the Telecom Equipment Certification Center with flying colors before it can pick up its network licenses for China.
As for the release date, we are still up in arms, because just like how things work over here in the US, an approval from the regulatory body (or bodies) does not automatically translate to that of a product release to the mass market.
