Intel continues to maintain and perhaps stretch their leadership in the field of processors by introducing the new Core M processor which will hopefully be used to deliver extremely slim and fanless designs in future computing devices, bringing along with it an exotic blend of beauty, performance and decent battery life. Of course, the Intel Core M processor is not going to be available right now, although Intel did mention that it will arrive later this holiday season
Having said that, it is but a matter of time before the likes of ASUS, Acer, Dell, HP, Lenovo and Toshiba will incorporate the new Intel Core M processor in their 2-in-1 hybrid devices, with some of these systems touted to arrive before the year is over. The Intel Core M processor is capable of achieving amazing performance levels without draining its battery too much and too fast, opening the door for the thinnest, fanless 2-in-1 devices in due time. In fact, it sips a mere 4.5 watts of juice, making it the most energy-efficient Intel Core processor to date.
Intel claims that the Core M processor will be able to enable up to 50% faster compute performance as well as 40% faster graphics performance against the comparable, previous 4th generation Intel Core processor. [Press Release]
