Arm wrestling is a game of the ages and there’s really nothing much one could do to improve on it, or could there? Well the good news for those of you out there who are eager to hop on board the wearables bandwagon, you might be interested to learn that the Apple Watch will be getting its first game in the form of iArm Wrestle Champs.
If you’re wondering why the name sounds so familiar, it is because it is a game that has already been released on both the iPhone and Android devices, although in this case it does seem to make more sense to work on a wearable as it would be a lot more convenient than holding a phone in your hand.
For those unfamiliar with the game, it basically uses the accelerometer in your device to determine who is the winner. In the mobile phone version of the game, both players will grip the phone in the middle of their hands and arm wrestle like usual, but when the phone detects that it has been moved to either side, it will then announce the winner.
It is admittedly a bit of a novelty but it should do a good job of showing off the Apple Watch’s technology and some of its potential uses. However given that the Apple Watch is only pegged for a release next year, we guess iArm Wrestle Champs will probably be released in 2015 as well.
