HTC Desire 820 64-bit Android Smartphone Makes Its Debut

htc desire 820_2We have been hearing rumors and seeing teases that HTC could be announcing another 64-bit smartphone in the form of the HTC Desire 820, and sure enough HTC did exactly just that. The Taiwanese company has recently taken the official wraps off the HTC Desire 820 and we have to admit that the phone looks pretty good!

Unlike HTC’s other 64-bit handset, the HTC Desire 510, the Desire 820 will run on a more powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor and is expected to come with Android L preinstalled. While the 64-bit chipset is a nice touch, the display of the Desire 820 does leave a little to be desired.

The handset will feature a 5.5-inch 720p HD display. While it’s large screen might sit well with those who like large displays, the 720p HD resolution also means that it isn’t as sharp as HTC’s other offerings, like the HTC One M8, but if you’re not too fussy then we reckon it should be good enough to get the job done.

The Desire 820 will also feature an 8MP front-facing camera and will sport a 13MP rear-facing camera with a backside-illuminated sensor. As you can see in the photos, the HTC Desire 820 will also come with the front-facing stereo BoomSound speakers. Pricing is unknown yet but HTC promises it will be “affordable” and will be available by the end of September or early October.
