Running underneath the hood would be an Intel Celeron N2807 Bay Trail processor, ensuring that this is not going to be a processing powerhouse right from the get go. It is touted that the HP Slate 17 will arrive with a Full HD touchscreen display, Beats Audio support, 2GB RAM, a 720p webcam, an HDMI port, a USB 2.0 port, and a memory card reader. Connectivity options include 802,11a/b/g/n Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0. Expect the HP Slate 17 to run on Android 4.4 KitKat.
The internal battery of this 5.4-pound device is said to allow it to run for up to 5 hours on a full charge, although I don’t think you would want to lug this around for such a long amount of time as that would mean ditching your gym membership. It is reported that the HP Slate 17 will arrive Stateside in a few weeks’ time for less than $500.
