Strakka Racing’s Dan Walmsley did mention about the new prototype car, which is the Strakka Dome S103. The whole idea is to deliver a racer which is not only hardy; since it has been specially designed for the World Endurance championship, a series that will include the Le Mans 24 hour. In that one race in particular, the ride is supposed to travel further than a F1 vehicle more than in a whole season.
3D printing comes in to help try things out, and even to test some things out, but the whole idea is to provide the entire team with a clear direction, allowing them to extract the best performance from the vehicle itself. This ride will feature 3D printed brake ducts, air intake, dive planes and dash panel, and those are not the only things that are 3D printed. Definitely a whole way ahead of rough novelty plastic objects that is made from colored filament, and we can only see it grow from strength to strength from here.
