Today is the day that millions of gamers around the world have been waiting for since the past few months. Bungie’s new title Destiny was finally released today. Those who ordered physical copies had their discs shipped today and those who digitally downloaded the title were finally able to play Destiny. Yesterday we covered the Day One Patch that Bungie had released. At the time it didn’t say what improvements and fixes were made to the game but today Bungie has posted the Destiny 1.0.1 patch notes for us to peruse.
The deal with the Day One Patch is that players can not boot the game until it has been downloaded. Its required regardless of what copy you bought, physical or digital, the patch has to be downloaded if you want to play the game.
Changes have been made to classes, weapons, maps, activities, destinations and more. Many weapon types have been tweaked, some have even seen their damage and accuracy being improved, others have received reductions in base accuracy and stability. In weapons the biggest change has been made to Hand Cannons which now have 20 percent improved zoom as well as enhanced magazine sizes and damage.
Destiny patch 1.0.1 isn’t the last update of its kind that will be released for this game. Bungie will keep on improving the experience through future updates. The entire list of changes made by this patch, which is quite lengthy, is available for your perusal on Bungie’s website.
