Dell does seem to be moving in the direction of the 7000 Series when it comes to different naming conventions, as we have seen earlier this week in the form of the Dell Inspiron 14 7000 as well as the Dell Inspiron 13 7000 2-in-1. This time around, a new Android-powered tablet was being hailed by Dell, where the computer manufacturing company claims that this is the thinnest Android-powered tablet in the world, measuring a mere 6mm in terms of thickness – which is a wee bit under 0.24”. What kind of treasures does it hold underneath all that slim external look?
First of all, it looks as though it will run on an Intel Atom Z3500 series Moorefield processor, where it sports a high-resolution 8.4 inch OLED display. Apart from that, the Dell Venue 8 7000 Series will also lay claim to being one of the first tablets that will ship with Intel’s RealSense platform. RealSense will merge a 3D camera alongside Intel software in order to enabled 3D gesture based input that is not too far away from what one would experience with a Leap Motion or Microsoft Kinect controller.
Other features about the Dell Venue 8 7000 Series tablet points to an 8.4 inch, 2560 x 1600 pixel edge-to-edge OLED display, and although pricing details have yet to be determined, but we do know that it ought to arrive sometime later this holiday season.
