As Microsoft has stated in the past, they are committed to improving their voice assistant feature Cortana by updating it at least twice a month. Now in the latest update it has been revealed that Cortana will be able to help users define words, so instead of typing it out and doing a manual search, you can just ask Cortana instead.
Pretty handy, huh? Well it seems that the other features that Microsoft has added also has the ability to turn Cortana into your exercise buddy. As stated on Microsoft’s “What’s new” page, it looks like gym enthusiasts or fitness newbies will be able to ask Cortana about the different exercises and how to perform them.
For example as you can see in the screenshot above, asking Cortana about crunches will yield results that will open in the Bing Health and Fitness app, after which users will be able to look through the different exercises as well as how to best perform them, which is important if you’re starting out and you’re trying to avoid any potential injury.
We have to say that this is a pretty useful feature given that a lot of wearables these days are starting to focus on fitness, so with Microsoft starting to integrate fitness requests into Cortana, perhaps they are setting up the groundwork for if and when they do decide to release wearables themselves.
