China Report Points To New Redmi Flagship
Over the weekend, there was a spanking new report which was published in China which touted hardware specifications for a yet unreleased Redmi handset from Xiaomi that will obviously reside on the high end side of things. It is touted that this particular smartphone will run on an octa-core MT6595 chip from MediaTek, accompanied by 3GB RAM to boot. Do bear in mind that this means it is not an actual octa-core chip from MediaTek, as it will fall back upon the Big.LITTLE architecture alongside a quartet of Cortex A-17 cores that have a maximum clock speed of 2.2GHz, in addition to another four Cortex A-7 cores that boast of a top clock speed of 1.7GHz.
This alleged Xiaomi Redmi model will arrive with a 5.5” display and is set to feature a 20.7MP shooter at the back, not to mention an 8MP camera in front for some pretty slick looking selfies. Apart from that, there is also a 3,500mAh battery that will power the device, which also boasts of rapid charging capability – pretty nifty when you are in a rush and need your smartphone to be juiced up as soon as possible.
Do expect this upcoming flagship device to arrive in 16GB, 32GB, 64GB, and 128GB capacities, where they will carry $165, $215 and $245 price points, respectively – except for the 128GB model which we do not know how much it will cost.
