There’s merely a fortnight to go before BlackBerry conducts simultaneous events in three major cities around the world to show off its latest flagship smartphone, the BlackBerry Passport. There’s a lot of hype for this device particularly among BB fans and among those who have been intrigued by the device’s unorthodox design and unique features. A retailer across the pond in Germany has already started taking pre-orders for the device even though its pricing and availability information has not been officially revealed by BlackBerry.
Major German retailer Media Markt has already listed the BlackBerry Passport pre-order for €599. The price includes VAT and the only additional charge customers will incur will be shipping at €1.99. The listing does not carry a confirmed release date at this point in time.
According to the retailer the BlackBerry Passport has a 2.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 quadcore processor with 3GB RAM, 32GB of onboard storage and BlackBerry OS 10.3. Even though the company has shown off many of the device’s features officially it is yet to confirm the entire specifications of this smartphone.
As far as the U.S. launch is concerned it is rumored that T-Mobile might be one of the carriers that will offer this device in the country, even though it had a falling out with the company earlier this year. But as already mentioned, there have been no confirmations as yet, so we’ll have to sit tight until the 24th.
