BlackBerry has started making waves again. On September 24th the company is going to formally announce the device that many of its fans have been anxiously waiting for, even though BlackBerry itself has confirmed many things about the Passport up till now. Recently the company’s 2014 roadmap was allegedly leaked and it mentioned a luxury device that will presumably be released later this year. A photo of that device has surfaced online.
This isn’t the first time that we are hearing about the BlackBerry P’9883, multiple renders have already leaked online. The photo that has been leaked today is quite blurry, which is normally the case when rumor cycle about an unreleased product begins, which is why the possibility exists that we’ll be treated to clearer images in the future.
There aren’t that many details available about the P’9983 “Khan” specifications at this point in time. Chatter indicates that it may have a 3.1-inch 720×720 OLED display with 64GB of onboard storage, a 2,100mAh battery and something that BlackBerry is well known for: a full hardware QWERTY keyboard.
Given its Porsche Design title and the possibility that expensive materials like stainless steel might be used in the device, its highly likely that the BlackBerry P’9983 will cost over $2,000, as previous Porsche Design BlackBerry devices have cost in the past. No word as yet from the company when it will be formally announced.
