Rocksteady confirmed back in June that the Batman Arkham Knight release was being delayed and pushed into 2015. Initially the developer had said that the title would be released in the fall of 2014, around the time many other major titles were due to be released particularly for next-gen consoles. At the time a confirmed date was not provided but today the Batman Arkham Knight release date has finally been confirmed for PS4, Xbox One and the PC.
The title’s publisher has confirmed via Twitter that Batman Arkham Knight release is going to take place on June 2nd, 2015. That’s certainly a long wait, an entire year since the delay was announced in June 2014, but hopefully the title will be able to meet gamers’ expectations.
This is a purely next-generation title, so if you have a PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360, I would advise you not to get your hopes up. Batman Arkham Knight will stick to PS4, Xbox One and PC. Rocksteady justified this decision by saying that it wants to ensure the title delivers the level of quality that Batman fans and gamers expect from this release.
A pre-order page for the game has been published online which allows gamers to reserve a copy. Seeing as how the release is quite a long way off, I’d say there’s no rush to get those pre-orders in immediately. It remains to be seen if pre-load will be offered for this title on PS4 and Xbox One when the release date nears.
