Well according to a report from BetaBoston (via MacRumors), it seems that Apple’s efforts at improving Siri are well underway and that they are currently expanding their Boston-based research team. They write, “Several commercial realtors tell me that the Cupertino company has leased more than half a floor at One Broadway, an MIT-owned building that also houses Facebook’s small local team, several venture capital firms, and the Cambridge Innovation Center. The new office, about 13,000 square feet on one of the building’s upper floors, is a major expansion for Apple, which currently has a small team on the building’s fifth floor.”
It also seems that Apple is hiring former Nuance employees to work in their team, and the report goes on to state that Apple has also managed to add members from the likes of Amazon, BBN Technologies, and Actifio. It is unclear when these changes to Siri will be made, but based on the progress that they have made so far, we reckon it could be a while.
It is also unclear if the changes Apple will be making will be a vast improvement over the current iteration of Siri, but here’s hoping that it will. In the meantime we will be keeping our eyes peeled for more information regarding Apple’s advancements with Siri, so do check back with us at a later date for the details!
