Well according to a report from Bank Innovation, perhaps a reward program could be the way to go about it. One of the groups involved in the talks is said to be the InterContinental Hotels Group, although their source adds that Apple has only recently begun to hire towards that project and even though it could be announced tomorrow, the rewards program could be postponed until Apple has more partners onboard.
It is also expected that Apple wants the cloud hanging over their heads regarding the iCloud hacks to clear up so that when the media does cover their program, their focus will be on it and not the hacks. In any case it sounds like a good idea as a rewards program would definitely make it more attractive for consumers.
Apple has also been rumored to have negotiated for lower credit card transaction fees when using their mobile payments service, so that’s another bonus that might be able to attract users and retailers to their services, but in any case take it with a grain of salt for now, but do check back with us tomorrow for all the details!
