apple-store-5th-avePre-orders for the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus are expected to kick off tomorrow and for the most part, it means that the device will be shipped to the address you put on Apple’s website. Well the good news is that if you’d rather pick up the device yourself because you might not be home or because you can’t wait, it seems that you could pick it up yourself at Apple’s Retail Store.

This is according to a discovery on Apple’s website (via 9to5Mac) which reads, “The big day is coming. Pre-order iPhone 6 and have it shipped to you for free, or pick it up in store. You can also buy at the Apple Retail Store beginning at 8:00 a.m. on September 19.” The folks at 9to5Mac have also confirmed this by talking to an Apple representative.

This is a change in operations as back in 2013, Apple did not allow in-store pickups of the phone until three days after the official release of the new iPhones, so we guess this is good news for customers who might find it more convenient to pick up their purchases in-store as opposed to having to wait for a delivery.

Recently we had also heard that Apple could be thinking about eliminating the need to line up for its products through a digital reservation ticket in which customers could feel free to return anytime in the day to buy their iPhone, as opposed to having to physically wait in line which is something that used to be done in the past.
