So it was only recently that Apple had released iOS 8.0.1, but unfortunately the update was extremely buggy and in some situations, caused users to lose cellular service which is pretty bad. Now the good news is that Apple has since confirmed that iOS 8.0.2 is in the works. The Cupertino company confirmed this in a recent support document that they have released.
According to Apple, they expect that iOS 8.0.2 will be released in the next few days. “We are also preparing iOS 8.0.2 with a fix for the issue, and will release it as soon as it’s ready in the next few days.” In the meantime Apple has also provided users with instructions on how to downgrade from iOS 8.0.1 to iOS 8 in the meantime while they wait for iOS 8.0.2.
It is a pretty straightforward method as we have covered in an earlier post. Basically all you’d need to do is backup your data on your phone to your computer or to the cloud, connect your phone to your computer, and then you will have to download some files that Apple has linked on their website.
After you’re done, iOS 8 should be installed back on your phone and everything should go back to normal, hopefully. It is unfortunate that iOS 8.0.1 has proven to be so buggy, but hopefully iOS 8.0.2 will address it. We’ll keep our eyes peeled for it, so do check back with us later for the details.
