castle-siegeClose to the end of last month, we did bring you word that Age of Empires: Castle Siege will be making its way over to two different Microsoft operating systems – one for computers in the form of Windows 8.1, while the other would cater to the portable device platform, and Windows Phone 8.1 ends up as the vehicle of choice, so to speak. Well, we are pleased to say that Age of Empires: Castle Siege has now been released on the Windows Store, thanks to the folks over at Microsoft Studios for making it possible.

The entire download would measure 169MB in size, and it has been rated “Teen” – so parents with younger children would know what to do. Arriving as version 1.0.0.0, it will play nice on both Windows Phone 8.1 and Windows Phone 8 platforms, and the app will require users to sign into Xbox with a Microsoft account to play, so do take note of that beforehand.

Supported resolutions include HD720P (720×1280), WVGA (480×800) and WXGA (768×1280), as you take your pick from one of several civilizations, ranging from the Britons, to Teutons and Kievan Rus. You are required to introduce upgrades to the likes of your keep from time to time, as well as introduce fortifications to your walls as well as protect yourself from hungry marauders.
