It seems that we are starting to see and hear more Windows-powered tablets in recent days, what with the Toshiba Encore Mini as well as other brands from India like the iBall Slide WQ32. As for the Acer Iconia Tab 8W, this particular tablet happens to be an 8” device with a quad-core Intel Atom Bay Trail processor running underneath the hood. It will have Windows 8.1 as the operating system of choice, and it is tipped to hit the market later this November, where the main pulling factor about this particular tablet as at press time would be its selling price that has been slated for a mere $150, making it highly affordable to just about anyone who would want to make the jump into the tablet market.
Well, while the Acer Iconia Tab 8W remains unavailable for purchase, this does not mean that we cannot get a closer look at it. In fact, the Acer Iconia Tab 8W has already popped up over at the FCC, which means it is being prepared for a general release, and needless to say, it has passed the FCC tests with flying colors.
The 8” display will arrive with 1,280 x 800 pixel resolution, accompanied by 1GB RAM, carries 32GB of internal memory and sports an Intel Atom Z3735G processor. Acer claims that the Iconia Tab 8W will be able to obtain up to 8 hours of run time, where photos over at the FCC point to various batteries – and the general masses ought to expect a 17Wh battery in action thereabouts.
