Some time close to the end of last month, we did bring you word that Xiaomi, a company that churns out a new generation of smartphones, has also announced their very first foray into the world of wearable technology, and it seems that the very same Xiaomi Mi Band has now been slated for an 18th of August release date.
One of Xiaomi’s strengths as a company would be to price decently powered and equipped gadgets at a budget that will make you smile, and with the Xiaomi Mi Band, the competition heats up all the more where fitness peripherals are concerned. It has been tagged at 79 yuan (which is roughly the equivalent of $13), where it will sport IP67 certification that protects it from the elements, while carrying enough battery power to have it last for up to 30 days.
This means there should be more than enough juice on board to wake you up in the form of an alarm clock, as well as keep track of your physical activity in order to make the most out of your workouts. Not only that, it can be submerged up to 1 meter of water, making it handy to track your swimming motions. Any takers?
