Xbox One Digital TV Tuner For Europe Announced

The Xbox One is not a pure game console in one sense, as it is Microsoft’s subtle attempt to make more headway into your living room, hoping for it to be the main entertainment hub for you to wind down right after a particularly difficult day at the office. Other than letting you blow enemy spaceships or embark on a killing spree, the Xbox One also has television capabilities. Such TV capabilities would be of no use if it were not paired up with the Xbox One Digital TV Tuner, so happy days are here as additional European markets will eventually see the launch of this particular peripheral this coming October.

This would mean that if you happen to own an Xbox One in the U.K., France, Italy, Germany and Spain, you will be able to take advantage of the Digital TV Tuner and all that it offers. Using it is a snap – you just have to plug it into the console’s USB port, where it will then function as an alternative solution when it comes to controlling subscription TV service set-top boxes.

Apart from accessing over-the-air TV signals in the five different markets as mentioned above, this particular tuner will also play nice with OneGuide, which is a programming listing that can be found in Xbox One.
